I'm a writer and hospitality/wine professional (CMS Certified Sommelier and WSET 3). My goals are:
- to help people stay human as the technological sand shifts under us
- to help people understand where we've come from and what's changed
- to help people become better viewers of film and appreciators of art
- to help sensitive, smart and anxious people learn to enjoy their lives more
- to share what I've learned about people by working in the service industry, and to help other people in the industry to love their jobs
- to be a student of human moves
Most of the writing I've done since 2018 has been on X/Twitter. I had a video go viral once, which was fun. My husband Ryan Stevenson and I wrote a book on/with Wes Anderson—more on that in the film writing page.
I also have accounts at Letterboxd, Bluesky, and Substack.
Ryan and I live in New England. We watch at least half a movie every day, usually pausing it intermittently to break down what's happening, and this is one of the chief joys of my life.
